Launch of Transparent Pricing Initiative in Ethiopia at 5th African Microfinance Conference

In September 2011 MFTransparency launched the MicroNed and Terrafina funded Transparent Pricing Initiative in Ethiopia. This was launched with a series of presentations at the 5^th African Microfinance Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – a four day event which draws key stakeholders together to discuss the latest developments in inclusive finance.

MFTransparency’s Alexandra Fiorillo presented as part of a panel of industry experts at the plenary session, and again during a workshop on social performance management, held by the Association of Ethiopian Microfinance Institutions (AEMFI). MFTransparency also presented at the SEEP African Regional Summit on Promoting and Advocating for Pricing Transparency. This was followed by a week of meetings with the National Bank of Ethiopia, the national microfinance network, and several of Ethiopia’s microfinance institutions.
